Axure RP 9 Crashing

Since updating to the latest version, 9.0.0.3625, it has been crashing frequently and seems to have taken a step backwards in stability. It is also difficult to work in if the program keeps crashing. Not sure why it went from stable to crashing so often with this lastest build, but it is a significant issue.

I’m sorry to hear that! Are there a series of steps that need to be taken to trigger the crashes, or does it happen at random? And is Axure RP hard crashing, or are you getting an error? If the latter, please send the Axure logs over to support@axure.com. You can find the Axure logs via the following:

For Mac:
/Documents/Axure User Data/Axure-9-0/logs

For Windows (you can just copy & paste this into a File Explorer window):
C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\Temp\Axure-9-0\logs

And if the former, please send over the system’s crash logs:

For Mac:

  1. Open the Console on your Mac (“Applications > Utilities > Console”).
  2. Right-click the “User Reports” tab along the left.
  3. Select “Reveal in Finder” for any Axure-related crash logs, and attach them to the email.

For Windows:

  1. Open the Start menu and search for “Event Viewer”.
  2. Open the Event Viewer application, and then navigate to “Event Viewer (Local) > Windows Logs > Application” in the left-hand sidebar.
  3. Once you’re there, select “Action > Find” and search for “AxureRP.exe”. Look for any “Error” level entries and any “.NET Runtime” errors that occurred immediately before or after the Axure RP error. [CTRL]-click these entries to group select them.
  4. Go to “Action > Save Selected Events” to export the events to an .evtx file. On the “Display Information” dialog that pops up, select “Display information for these languages”, and select “English (United States)”. Attach the .evtx file to the email.

I followed the instructions and was unable to find any error files associated with AxureRP.exe. I do however, have many log files in AppData.
The crashes seem to be happening somewhat randomly, sometimes when publishing (or trying to).

In that case, could you let me know whether this happens with one file, or all? If specific to one file, could you post that here for me to test? if you’d rather keep the file private, you can send that over to support@axure.com. And please zip up any logs you find in the AppData folder and send that over in the email as well. Thank you!
