Different icons displaying in preview mode

When I add an icon to the stage in Axure RP9, then preview the page. The icon showing in preview is NOT the icon that I placed on the stage.

Could you upload a sample .rp file so we can see exactly what is happening? …Or at least some screenshots?

What do you mean exactly by “icon” and how are you placing it on the stage? How different is the editor view vs HTML/preview browser view? Are you drawing from scratch? Importing an image? Importing a shape or SVG? Dragging in from a custom library? If the latter, is the “icon” font-based (a character in an graphic font) and is the font properly installed on your system? Or, is the “icon” a representative of web functionality, like many of the “icons” in the GoogleMI library?
