Has the group-editing view behavior changed recently? (selecting an area with mouse)

I might be just imagining things, but I could swear that a selected group behaved just like an isolated dynamic panel earlier, meaning you could use your mouse to press+hold and select an area of widgets within the active/selected group. Has this changed recently? Now that I try to do this, the mouse click (outside the group area) selects the objects that are outside the borders of the group and deselects the active group I’m editing. This still works well with dynamic panels but not with groups.

I just noticed this change too. It did change. I liked the isolation view in groups as well and would like it to come back. I didn’t see any settings to make it come back.
