in Chrome Version 67.0.3396.87, Axure RP version 8.0.0.3323:
when setting an input field to type “password”, if you press a single key at a time the cursor will just flash and not accept the input. If you mash keys or hit Shift + any key, it will start accepting keys and be OK after the initial character.
adding a field “hint” also negates this behavior.
We did not experience this behavior in Edge, so it seems to be some interaction between the browser and axure. We also did not experience it until recently, so it’s quite possible it’s related to an update in chrome.
This was quite problematic for us as we were in the middle of a usability study when it happened.
