Resize component instance

#1

Hi there,

I don’t see a way to resize a component instance? Is this possible?

Steps to reproduce:

  1. create a red rectangle with a size of 100x100 px
  2. right click rectangle > create component
  3. place component instance on a page/widget
  4. try to change the size of the component

A use scenario:
I work with a logo. This is placed in headers but also other spots all around the website. The same logo appears in different sizes. Currently, I use the logo as a widget in an rp library and place - and resize - this where I need in my destination document. However, if the logo changes, I have to replace all it’s instances manually, which is highly inefficient. Imagine having the option to have the logo as a component and being able to place it wherever and also resize it. That way, if the logo changes, I would only update the component. Position and scaling could be taken from the constraints defined on the component level.

There doesn’t seem to be a way to do it from the default behavior. You can change the drop behavior to ‘break away’ by right clicking on it in the components pane and that will treat it like a grouping instead so you can resize it. Not ideal, but it’s the only way I’ve found.
