I have found a nice example created by Alex where we can select multiple options on dropdown this is what i was searching for my requirement.

In my requirement i have an addition, when user selects more than two values on dropdown then dropwond should show first two selected values on dropdown and if more are selected it should show +1(in case of three items selected) or +2(in case of four are selected).
