Exporting icons as svg

A VERY helpful feature would be to allow exporting icons to svg. I currently have to jump through hoops in order to hand off vector icons to the dev teams. Copying and pasting back and forth from Illustrator can become quite tedious. This would cut down on design and prep time, considerably.

Any idea if this will ever be implemented?
