I recently added a new font to my computer via Adobe fonts “Proxima Nova Condensed”. From then on, for whatever reason even though the font shows up fine in the editing/mockup area, when I preview it, it shows up as italicized. I’ve checked the global styles, and it show up as Proxima Nova Condensed Bold, which is correct.
Editing view displays correctly:
Preview switches to italics
Just wanted to follow up on this issue in case anyone else encounters any similar font issues. Emily wrote in and we were able to diagnose and resolve the issue at the time.
The name of the font family needs to be exactly as it is displayed in the CSS file. In this example, the font family was “proxima-nova”, so the font of your text within Axure RP needs to be exactly that as well.
I never did get it fully resolved. I ended up just using the safe web fonts that were the closest I could get to it for now.
It was weird because when I installed regular proxima nova, everything was fine. When I installed proxima nova condensed and started using it, everything went off. Several of the condensed fonts went over in the same file as the regular ones, leaving only the italicised fonts in the condensed file. Therefore, anytime you use a condensed font, all you can see is italicised fonts. IDK. I found a workaround for now and forgot about it. :-/
Hi @emilytaege
Thanks for following up on this. After looking at the test project file you sent to us previously, CSS link to the web fonts specified the font names as below:
font-family:“proxima-nova”;
font-family:“proxima-nova-condensed”;
You will need to rename the fonts that you’re using to the specified font family names exactly as it appears. If this is still not working for you, then can you please resend the project file so we can continue testing?
