How can I add shadow to a text?

I tried to add it with the shadow function, but it adds to the text box instead of the “letters”, so the shadow becomes rectangular. If I double click-select the text, then the option becomes unavailable. Is it possible? Thank you!

Look under the TYPOGRAPHY section of the STYLE pane for this icon:
