Hi,
In Axure 8 I am having trouble figuring out how to save interaction styles in widget styles? I’d like to save mouseover states as part of the widget styles.
Hey artdog,
IX styles are available for copying/applying in the format painter (not widget styles) in both 7 and 8. The option is still there in 8, but we moved the format painter icon from where it used to be next to the widget styles icon up into the top toolbar. If you can’t see the “Painter” icon, then you’ll want to either select it by clicking on the “More” icon or making it visible in the toolbar by right-clicking the toolbar and choosing “Customize Toolbar”.
Hopefully that helps!
Hi,
It would be great if the interaction styles were in the widget style too.
They are widget styles like the default style of the widget
It would save a lot of time and work if they could be set and updated on all the widget with the same style (like it is with widget style)
Best,
This might be a bit of late response but I was looking for the same thing and I believe it is possible. See the ‘Use Widget Styles for MouseOver’ section in this article: https://www.axure.com/blog/using-widget-styles/. Hoping it works for what I want to do and hopefully for you to if it’s not too late!
Hi @sarah.reynolds and thanks ,
Unfortunately it doesn’t resolve my issue
The feature I would like is to define for a widget style all his interaction styles.
For instance, in the case of a primary button, the “Primary Button” style would have 5 differents styles:
- default
- MouseOver
- MouseDown
- Selected
- Disabled
So if I update “Primary Button” style with a MouseOver style it will update it for all my primary buttons
Today I have to create a style for each interaction and select them for all the buttons I add or already had (4 interaction styles x N buttons x N’ mouse clicks)
Thanks anyway ,
Hi PierreJ,
Thanks for the feedback! It sounds like you’d like a way to automatically apply a widget’s interaction styles, along with the widget’s style, when updating a widget style, and I’ll get this filed as a feature request with our product management team. For now, an option is to use what Alyssa mentioned, which is to use the Format Painter to copy a widget’s IX styles to the targeted widgets:
Hopefully this helps a bit!
Hi @Jane_Axure,
Thanks for filling it as a feature request.
I look forward to its implementation.
It will be a lot easier to pass style’s changes on numerous widgets of a prototype
Best,
It would be good to have mouseovers/mousedown etc styles added to Axure 9.
Hi zebrow!
In the Axure RP 9 beta, you can copy & paste interaction styles (e.g. mouseover, mousedown) by copying a widget with the IX styles and then pasting those onto the targeted widgets via right-click > “Paste Special > Paste Style”.
Hopefully that helps, but please lmk if I misunderstood!
