Mouse Exit Interaction for Hide/Show

I’m having trouble with one interaction I want to do in my prototype. On my Routes button, I have an interaction that makes Train Routes and Bus Routes appear once I hover over the Routes button (Mouse Enter). So I used the pen tool to draw a shape that I want to disappear the Bus Routes and Train Routes after I leave the shape (Mouse Exit). Whenever I try to test it, the buttons disappear once I leave the button. If I turn the custom shape off, the Train Routes and Bus Routes stay on, so I figured the issue has something to do with the interaction on the shape.
