Poor UI performance after importing image file (Windows 11)

Brand new Axure RP 11 user here!

I’m running on a Windows 11 machine that has well above the min hardware spec (32 GB RAM, 14-core 2.5 GHz CPU, 500+ GB free hard drive).

Whenever I bring an image file into a page (even a relatively small 140 KB PNG file), the program becomes unusable (like 5-10+ seconds between clicking on a widget and actually seeing it become selected). Image is already optimized. Not seeing any unusually large resource hits in Task Manager. Performance goes back to normal when I delete the image file from the page.

Any suggestions?

That is definitely unusual given your hardware specs. It might be worth checking if hardware acceleration is causing a conflict with your graphics drivers on Windows 11, as that can sometimes cause lag with rendering images in the workspace.

That is strange behavior for such a small file size. Have you tried toggling the hardware acceleration settings in the preferences? Sometimes specific GPU drivers on Windows 11 can cause lag during canvas redraws when images are present.

Thanks for the responses! I had to reinstall Axure for other reasons, and afterwards, the image-related lag seems to have resolved itself. (But your posts did prompt me to check for a graphics driver update - immediately after installing the new driver, the image-related lag came back, but after a reboot things seem to have normalized again.) Dunno, could be graphics driver related, but it’s hard to say.

When you mention toggling hardware acceleration settings, are you talking about within Axure (I’m not seeing anything in Preferences and can’t find any other settings), or within the OS or NVIDIA control panel?
